ONLY the fields in the approved list above may be used for State Cup preliminary games. All preliminary games must be played between March 31, 2012 and May 6, 2012. There will be no exceptions! Game dates and times must be mutually agreed upon by both coaches. If both coaches cannot agree on game date(s), time(s), and location(s) for their preliminary games, MSYSA will schedule the game(s). If this occurs, the game(s) must be played as scheduled by MSYSA.

It is the responsibility of the Home Team to report the preliminary game logistics (who, what, where, when, etc). Instructions for doing so are posted above. THIS INFORMATION MUST BE RECEIVED BY MARCH 9, 2012. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture and subsequent fines. There will be NO CHANGES of any kind after the March 9th deadline (excluding weather-related changes). The home team is always the first team listed on the schedule.

The winning team (or home team in case of a tie) of each preliminary game must report the game results within 24 hours of the game by phoning in the game scores. Also, the winning team (or home team in case of a tie) must mail in ONE copy of the State Cup Game Report (scorecard) that has been signed by both teams and all referees. Game Reports are printed from GotSoccer. Game Reports must be mailed to MSYSA, Attention: State Cup, 9401 General Drive, Suite 120, Plymouth, MI 48170, within 24 hours of your game(s). Instructions for phoning in your game scores and printing game reports are in the list at the top of the page.

REFEREES:
MSYSA will assign referees (center and 2 assistants) to all preliminary games. Any team who does not use MSYSA assigned referees may be subject to fines, game forfeitures, and/or disqualifications. Please see the State Cup rules for a referee fee chart. Teams are responsible for referee fees for all preliminary games. MSYSA only pays the referee fees for the Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Finals.

SPORTSMANSHIP:
We anticipate the State Cup Tournament to be extremely competitive. Keep in mind that the aspect of sportsmanship is very important during the State Cup competition. Any inappropriate conduct by players, coaches, team officials and parents will not be tolerated by MSYSA.

Coaches, please remind your parents that they should NOT approach referees after the game with questions or concerns. If you feel a referee did not perform well, please e-mail the State Cup Committee at statecup@michiganyouthsoccer.org.
