Administrator's Workshop
The Michigan State Youth Soccer Association is pleased to announce that an Administrator’s Workshop has been scheduled for Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Ann Arbor Marriott. The MSYSA Administrator’s Workshop is FREE for all MSYSA members, and is designed to provide relevant information to members in either an instructional or roundtable environment.

Join MSYSA to learn how to streamline your league/club registration process and take it to the next level with online registration. This workshop session will focus on reviewing advanced features and functions of GotSoccer beyond the registration basics, and we will address many of your questions regarding GotSoccer.
9:00 AM l How to Hold a Proper Disciplinary Hearing l Presented by Josh Sherman, MSYSA Director of Programs (Register Here) Conference Room D
If you are a league or club who may handle player, coach, team official, or parent disciplinary issues, this meeting is for you. We will outline various rules and bylaws that you are required to follow such as hearing notices, new material notices, and decision notices. Additionally, this meeting will focus on the due process rights of accused parties. We will discuss what you must do from start to finish so that decisions made are following proper procedures.

This presentation will address the role of the Olympic Development Program for both boys and girls in the State of Michigan. The landscape of youth soccer has changed substantially in the last several years, however, Michigan ODP continues to grow. This session will provide an overview of the program as well as provide you with knowledgeable answers to any questions you may have relating to the Olympic Development Program.

Discover in this meeting resources MSYSA can offer to a beginner youth soccer coach. This presentation shows how fun games and soccer-related activities replace adult-style soccer as the main ingredients of a well-designed youth program; and how traditional coaching is replaced by the facilitation of fun! From online modules to FREE video resources. MSYSA’s Director of Coaching will point you in the right director to help prepare you for the season.

Are you a Club or League President? Do you handle Risk Management for your Club or League? If so, this meeting will teach you why risk management policies and background checks are so important. Learn what you can do in soccer and outside of soccer to make sure your participants are safe. In this meeting, we will also discuss the online Risk Management system and its capabilities as well as review the appeals procedures for disqualified applicants. We will also explain why examining the National Disciplinary Action Report (DAR) is important as well. Additionally, MSYSA will provide an overview of the Michigan Concussion Legislation and how to comply with various mandates.

In this meeting, MSYSA will explain the various types of insurance that is offered to members of MSYSA. Attendees will gain knowledge of MSYSA’s liability coverage, Directors and Officers Coverage, Tournament Insurance, Indoor Insurance and gain knowledge about MSYSA’s Player Medical Claim process.

Tournament Directors from throughout MSYSA are invited to join MSYSA in this workshop sessions. In this session, we will discuss the MSYSA Tournament Rules and Guidelines as well as various reports that must be submitted to MSYSA after the event has completed. This session will also allow other Tournament Directors to share new ideas on team retention, team growth, and other tournament management ideas.
