MSYSA Coaching Symposium Returns in Association with MSPSP to present 2i Coaching!

The Michigan State Youth Soccer Association in association with the Michigan State Premier Soccer Program is proud to announce that the Ultimate Soccer Arenas (located at 867 South Blvd. E., Pontiac, Michigan 48341) has been selected to host the MSYSA Coaching Symposium. The symposium is a two-day event that will take place on Friday, July 25, 2014 from 6:00pm to 9:30pm and Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Coaches from around the State as well as coaches who are participating in the MSYSA Director’s Academy Program are invited to register. This symposium will combine soccer professional development experience with instruction, practical sessions and current case studies with various youth academies. Additionally, this symposium will analyze the methods for talent development and identification as well as understand the initiatives taken by 2i Coaching in Brazil down to the Academy level.

The cost to register for this Symposium is $50.00 per candidate.

About 2i Coaching

The company 2i Sports was established in July 2013 by two professional brothers, Guilherme Torres and Eduardo Oliveira. 

Guilherme Torres currently serves as the Performance Coordinator at Botafogo FR Youth Soccer Academy, Brazil Serie A Football Club.  Additionally, Torres is the Technical Coordinator & Coach of the Team Nike Aterro. He is an Instructor within the Coaching Education Program at CBF for ‘B’ and ‘C’ licenses. Also, Torres served as the Assistant Coach/Fitness Coach of the Brazilian National Soccer Team.  Guilherme Torres currently holds a Brazilian Soccer Confederation ‘A’ license.

Eduardo Oliveira currently holds the role of Director of Coaching at Botafoga FR Youth Soccer Academy, Brazil Serie A Football Club. Eduardo also serves as the Technical Director & Head Coach of the Team Nike Aterro. He is an Instructor within the Coaching Education Program CBF for ‘B’ and ‘C’ licenses. From 2012 to 2013, Eduardo served as the Head Coach/Assistant Coach/Fitness Coach of the Botafogo Youth Soccer Academy. In recent years, Eduardo served as the Assistant Coach/Fitness Coach of the Brazilian National Soccer Team. Eduardo holds a Brazilian Soccer Confederation ‘A’ license.

Meals are not provided and participants can leave the facility for local area restaurants if they so choose. Each candidate is encouraged to bring writing utensils and notepads.  The Symposium is hosted at Ultimate Soccer Arenas located at 867 South Blvd. E., Pontiac, Michigan 48341.

MSYSA Director’s Academy Information

As outlined in the MSYSA Director’s Academy Rules; all clubs with at least (1) team accepted into the DA must have at least one (1) representative attend an MSYSA-approved Education event.  MSYSA will subsidize this event for current Directors Academy coaches.
