Tammy Farnum

Girls ODP Director

Tammy Farnum is currently coaching as the Associate Head Coach for Michigan State University. Tammy holds an NSCAA National License and a United States Soccer Federation 'C' License. Tammy played soccer at Saginaw Heritage High School before attending Michigan State University from 1989-1992 where she was Team Co-Captain in 1992. Additionally, Tammy has coached at the US Youth Soccer ODP National Championships in 2001 (earned 1st place with the '83 team), 2005 (earned 3rd place with the '89 team), 2007 (earned 3rd place with the '89 team) and 2013 (earned 3rd place with the '97 team). Tammy earned a Bachelors degree in Physical Education and Exercise Science from the Michigan State University. More Information

Mark Zathey

Boys ODP Director


Mark Zathey is currently the Head Coach for Madonna University Men's Soccer. Mark holds a U.S.S.F. 'A' License, U.S.S.F. Youth License and an NSCAA Premier Diploma. Mark played college soccer at Madonna University from 1994-1997 where he earned a Bachelor degree in Social Sciences, a Secondary Education Certificate and a Sports Administration Masters Degree. Prior to Madonna University Mark coached at Eastern Michigan University, University of Detroit (Men) and Michigan Bucks PDL team. Mark is also an instructor for the MSYSA Coaching Education Program. Dan Diac

Dan Diac is currently involved on many levels in soccer. After completing his education at University Romano-Americana in Bucharest, he played professional soccer in Romania including: F.C. Soimii Sibiu, Rapid Bucharest, F.C. Chindia Targoviste, F.C. Unirea ALba Iulia and F.C. Drobeta Turnu Severin. Additionally, Dan played a full year with the Detroit Rockers. Dan is the Goalkeeper coach for Eastern Michigan University and is the owner of the No. 1 Goalkeeper School. Dan holds a U.S.S.F. Youth License, U.S.S.F. Goalkeeper License, a U.S.S.F. 'B' License and an FA Psychology for Soccer Diploma. After much involvement with the Olympic Development Program Regionally and Nationally, Dan won an ODP National Championship with the 1995 Boys Team. Additionally, Dan was awarded the 2011 US Youth Soccer Region II Championships Fair Play Award while coaching with WAZA F.C. More Information

Jeff Shuk

Head Goalkeeper Coach (Girls)

Jeff Shuk is one of the region's top Goalkeeper coaches, currently serving as a Goalkeeper instructor for the United Soccer Coaches and the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA). With over 25 years of coaching under his belt, he has mentored top level goalkeepers at the youth, amateur and professional levels. Along with his goalkeeper experience he has served as the University of Michigan Men's Club Coach and the coach of the former Detroit Arsenal (National Premier Soccer League). Currently, he is the Goalkeeping Coach at Northville Rush, AFC Ann Arbor (National Premier Soccer League) and Madonna University. Jeff holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) A License, USSF Goalkeeper License, and a USSF Youth National Coaching License. He also serves as a Coaching Education Instructor for the United States Soccer Federation and Michigan State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA).  More Information

James Renton

James Renton is currently a Staff Coach for the Michigan Jaguars FC. James holds a U.S.S.F. 'B' License and a National Youth License. Additionally, James is an Instructor for the MSYSA Coaching Education Program. James started playing high school soccer in England and continued at the collegiate level for four years with the Rochester College where he earned a BA in History.  More Information
