MSYSA New Member Recruitment Program
Introduction:
One measure of success for an organization is its growth in membership. In a soccer organization where registrations vary from year to year and across age groups it is imperative that incentives in the form of financial assistance be available to new member leagues in order for them to grow and remain a viable member.
A new organization usually has initial funding to get off the ground but it needs help in the ensuing years, especially at the two year mark. It also needs help in organization, process planning, recruitment and marketing.
Keeping this in mind MSYSA has created a new member incentive program. This program will provide needed components to new soccer leagues to succeed. The program will provide liaisons in the areas of management, coaching education and board practices. Furthermore we at MSYSA realize that the two year mark is crucial for any new league. It is then that most leagues are at a critical juncture and may need some reasonable influx of support to get over the hump.
Effective Dates:
This program will go into effect immediately.
Eligibility:
For the purpose of this program a new soccer league is defined as a brand new organization that registers players for soccer with MSYSA.
To be eligible 80% of the registered players must be new to MSYSA and have not registered with MSYSA previously.
Incentive:
This program will provide:
1. A liaison from the MSYSA Board of Directors to assist with coordinating and guiding the new league
2. A liaison from the MSYSA Office Staff to help establish process and procedures for day to day conduct of business
3. A liaison from the MSYSA Coaching Staff to help guide the new coaches into their roles.
4. A liaison from the Michigan Referee Committee to help with a referee program.
5. This program will offer rebates to the new league at the end of two years. In order to avail the rebate the league must be in good standing. The rebate will be based on average annual registration over a two year period multiplied by half the registration fee in effect due to MSYSA at the commencement of the league application.
General Notes:
Soccer Start programs are not eligible for this program.
