MSYSA Soccer Spotlight: U13 Saline Swarm

Congratulations to the U13 Saline Swarm Black team from the Saline Area Soccer Association for earning MSYSA Soccer Spotlight Team of the Month honors for May 2007. The team has been training together for four years and has accomplished an incredible amount for a community-based club. They finished in the Semifinals of the 2007 Girls State Cup, and have won several other tournaments within the past year. In the fall of 2006, the team posted a 14-1-1 record with 10 shutouts, and they look forward to carrying that momentum with them in to the 2007 spring season. The team’s opponents often underestimate them because the girls appear quite small, but Coach Bill Thiess says their skill and competitiveness overcomes what they lack in size. Best of luck this spring, and keep up the good job!
