ROSTERS:
Your MSYSA League Affiliated roster that has been signed/stamped by the League Registrar is due into the MSYSA State Office no later than 4:30pm on March 26, 2010.
PRELIMINARY GAMES:
Preliminary games are self-scheduled by the participating teams. Please contact the coach or manager of the opposing team(s), and set up your preliminary game schedule and obtain directions to the fields. The Home Team is always the first team listed. Check your team schedule for how many games you have home and away. All preliminary games must be played between March 27, 2010 and May 9, 2010. There will be no exceptions! Game dates and times must be mutually agreed upon by both coaches. If both coaches cannot agree on game date(s), time(s), and location(s) for their preliminary games, MSYSA will schedule the game(s). If this occurs, the game(s) must be played as scheduled by MSYSA. All teams who forfeit a State Cup game will be required to pay a minimum forfeit fine of $500.
REFEREES/PRELIMINARYGAMES:
MSYSA will assign referees (center and 2 assistants) to all preliminary games. It is the responsibility of the Home Team to report the preliminary game logistics (who, what, where, when, etc) via the online system. THIS INFORMATION MUST BE RECEIVED BY MARCH 5, 2010. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture and subsequent fines. There will be NO CHANGES of any kind after the March 5th deadline (excluding weather-related changes). Please note that any team who does not use MSYSA assigned referees may be subject to fines, game forfeitures, and/or disqualifications. Please see the State Cup rules for more information about referee fees.
MSYSA will schedule all referees for all State Cup games, however, MSYSA only pays the referee fees for the Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Finals.
SCORE REPORTING:
The State Cup system allows teams to log-in and report their own scores. The winning team (or Home Team in case of a tie) of each preliminary game must report the game results via the online system. MSYSA State Cup Game Reports (as posted on www.michiganyouthsoccer.org) must be used to report your game scores. The game reports need to be MAILED to MSYSA, Attention: State Cup, 9401 General Drive, Suite 120, Plymouth, MI 48170, within 24 hours following the day of your game(s). Failure to REPORT your score via the online tournament system and MAIL in your State Cup Game Reports may result in a $100 fine for each offense and/or the disqualification of the winning team.
SPORTSMANSHIP:
We anticipate the State Cup Tournament to be extremely competitive. Keep in mind that the aspect of sportsmanship is very important during the State Cup competition. Any inappropriate conduct by players, coaches, team officials and parents will not be tolerated by MSYSA.
QUARTERFINALS, SEMIFINALS, AND FINALS
State Cup Quarterfinals will be held May 22-23, 2010, at the Saginaw Township Soccer Complex.
State Cup Finals will be held Sunday, June 6, 2010, at a place TBD.
