ROSTERS:
State Cup rosters were frozen no later than 4:30pm on August 13, 2010.
PRELIMINARY GAMES:
Preliminary games are self-scheduled by the participating teams. Please contact the coach or manager of the opposing team(s), and set up your preliminary game schedule and obtain directions to the fields. The Home Team is always the first team listed. All preliminary games must be played between August 14, 2010 and September 19, 2010. There will be no exceptions! Game dates and times must be mutually agreed upon by both coaches. If both coaches cannot agree on game date(s), time(s), and location(s) for their preliminary games, MSYSA will schedule the game(s). If this occurs, the game(s) must be played as scheduled by MSYSA.
Teams must report their preliminary game logistics (who, what, where, when, etc) via GotSoccer for ALL of their games. There will be NO CHANGES of any kind after the August 1st deadline (excluding weather-related changes).
REFEREES:
MSYSA will assign referees (center and 2 assistants) to all preliminary games. Any team who does not use MSYSA assigned referees may be subject to fines, game forfeitures, and/or disqualifications. Please see the State Cup rules for a referee chart. Teams are responsible for referee fees for all preliminary games. MSYSA only pays the referee fees for the Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Finals.
SCORE REPORTING:
The winning team (or home team in case of a tie) of each preliminary game must report the game results within 24 hours of the game by e-mailing in the game scores to StateOffice@michiganyouthsoccer.org (until phone-in instructions are available). Also, the winning team (or home team in case of a tie) must mail in BOTH teams State Cup Game Reports (located above). Game Reports must be mailed to MSYSA, Attention: State Cup, 9401 General Drive, Suite 120, Plymouth, MI 48170, within 24 hours of your game(s). Failure to e-mail in your score and mail in your State Cup Game Reports may result in a $100 fine for each offense and/or the disqualification of the winning team.
SPORTSMANSHIP:
We anticipate the State Cup Tournament to be extremely competitive. Keep in mind that the aspect of sportsmanship is very important during the State Cup competition. Any inappropriate conduct by players, coaches, team officials and parents will not be tolerated by MSYSA.
Coaches, please remind your parents that they should NOT approach referees after the game with questions or concerns. If you feel a referee did not perform well, please e-mail the State Cup Committee at statecup@michiganyouthsoccer.org.
