2025 USYS Nationals Finals Recap

MI STARS 10B ACADEMY TRIUMPH 3-0 OVER TUZOS TUSCON ACADEMY TO CLAIM U15 NATIONAL TITLE

In a hard-fought and historic showdown at the 2025 USYS National Championships, MI Stars 10B Academy captured their first-ever National Championship with a dominant 3-0 win over Tuzos Tucson Academy 10B E64 in the U15 Boys Final.

ROAD TO GLORY

MI Stars earned their Nationals berth by finishing second in their National League Premier 2 division, securing qualification through a tightly contested National League Semifinal in Texas. Once in Orlando, the Stars were untouchable in group play – posting a perfect 3-0-0 record and outscoring opponents 8-2 to top their bracket. In the knockout rounds, MI Stars defeated fellow Michigan squad TKO Premier SC 10B Blue 4-1 in an all-home-state clash to advance. In the final, they delivered a compelling performance, shutting out Tuzos with a 3-0 victory to clinch the national title.

FINAL MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

A turning-point sequence early in the final set set the tone for MI Stars’ triumph. Following a Tucson free-kick, the Michigan goalkeeper calmly caught the ball and immediately launched a precision long-ball forward. Through excellent midfield link-up play, the ball found Liam Trimble, who buried the first goal and ignited the Stars’ momentum. From there, MI Stars maintained control – combining tight defense, effective transitions, and clinical finishing – to add two more goals, sealing a convincing 3-0 victory and claiming the championship.

A HISTORIC ACHIEVEMENT

This title was a first for MI Stars in the club’s history and a milestone for Michigan youth soccer. They joined an elite group of first-time champions, as recognized in the official recap of the national champions. Their victory is part of a broader narrative of success in 2025, with MI Stars being one of five Michigan clubs to earn a first-ever National Championship this summer.

PRIDE, PERSEVERANCE, AND PROMISE

MI Stars 10B Academy’s journey to the pinnacle of youth soccer is a story of unwavering resolve and collective brilliance. From a deep National League qualification to navigating tough knockout matches – culminating in a commanding 3-0 final – their path was defined by teamwork, belief, and composure under pressure. We are incredibly proud of what this group has accomplished. They represented Michigan with class and heart. They made history – earning their club’s first National Championship. Their legacy will inspire future generations of youth players.

Congratulations to MI Stars – your dedication, unity, and championship spirit shine brightest on the national stage.
