2025 USYS Nationals Semifinal Recap

MI STARS 10B ACADEMY DEFEAT TKO PREMIER 10B BLUE 4-1

In an all-Michigan showdown at the 2025 USYS National Championships, MI Stars 10B Academy powered past TKO Premier SC 10B Blue with a convincing 4-1 victory, booking their spot in the national final and capping off an unforgettable clash between two of Michigan’s elite programs.

HOW THEY GOT HERE

TKO earned their ticket to Orlando through the National League, where they showcased their consistency and competitive edge. Once at Nationals, they impressed in group play with a 3-0-0 record, scoring 8 goals and conceding just 1, to claim the top seed heading into the knockout rounds.

MI Stars 10B Academy also qualified through the National League and stormed through group play undefeated, showing the talent and depth that would carry them all the way to the championship match.

SEMIFINAL HIGHLIGHTS

The semifinal matchup between the two Michigan sides was a high-energy affair. MI Stars struck with clinical finishing, finding the net four times with sharp combination play and decisive runs in the final third. Despite the Stars’ attacking dominance, TKO battled hard and grabbed a goal of their own, refusing to go down quietly. MI Stars kept their foot on the gas until the end, securing a 4-1 result that sent them into the national final, where they would go on to capture the U15 Boys National Championship.

FINAL REFLECTION

For TKO, the 4-1 semifinal loss was a tough end to a remarkable journey. Their perfect run through group play and ability to reach the national semifinal stand as one of the club’s proudest achievements. Meanwhile, MI Stars went on to make history, lifting the national title and cementing themselves among the premier programs in the country.

PROUD OF THE JOURNEY

Even in defeat, TKO showed grit, heart, and the quality that brought them to the national stage. Their journey – from earning a spot through the National League to reaching the semifinals at Nationals – is a major accomplishment that highlights the strength of Michigan youth soccer. We couldn’t be prouder of both teams. Their runs in Orlando are proof of what dedication, teamwork, and belief can achieve, and it sets a foundation for even greater success in the future.
