Dear Club and League Representatives:
Today, US Youth Soccer (and its 54 State Associations), US Club Soccer, and AYSO decided to move to an age group player formation cycle that runs from August 1 to July 31 (School Year Registration) beginning with the Fall 2026/Spring 2027 seasons. PLEASE NOTE: This represents a change from the previously communicated September 1 to August 31 timeframe.
Birth Year Registration (January 1-December 31) remains in effect for the upcoming Fall (2025) season, and the Spring 2026 season.
As previously communicated, US Soccer, our National Governing Body, is extending reasonable flexibility to its organizational members (e.g., MLS Next, USL, Girls Academy, USSSA, SAY, etc.) to choose the best registration option for their participants. This specific communication is to alert you, and your members, that MSYSA is moving to School Year Registration (August 1 – July 31) in the Fall of 2026
