Preliminary Game Cancellation & Rescheduling

Teams may request that a kick-off time be changed due to lighting concerns by submitting the request and applicable fees to statecup@michiganyouthsoccer.org with sufficient advance notice (as determined by MSYSA). If the request cannot be accommodated, the game shall kick-off as initially scheduled.
Preliminary games may NOT be canceled or rescheduled for any reason other than weather (including weather-related field conditions). In instances where games must be canceled/rescheduled due to weather, the home team must notify MSYSA (statecup@michiganyouthsoccer.org) AND the coordinator of MSYSA Assigning (eshrews@gmail.com, 248-467-7846) as soon as possible. Proof of closure by the field owner may be required.
If the home team does not notify MSYSA in time to cancel the assigned referees, the referee fees shall be paid by the home team. The fees must be paid before the scheduled game will be permitted to be played.
When preliminary games must be rescheduled, the home team is responsible for submitting the new game schedule to MSYSA via email. In most cases, MSYSA needs a minimum of three (3) days to find referees for rescheduled games.
