MIDLAND FUSION 10 GREEN VS BASA 10 GIRLS
In the U16 Girls Premier Final of the MSYSA Fall State Cup, Midland Fusion 10 Green captured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over cross-town rivals BASA 10 Girls in a match that carried deep local significance. The first half featured intense, end-to-end action as both sides created promising opportunities but couldn’t find the back of the net. Crisp passing, decisive tackles, and well-timed runs defined the opening 45 minutes, with each team’s defensive line standing firm under pressure.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 77th minute after an impressive build-up from Midland. A forward threaded a pass into the feet of her teammate at the top of the box, who executed a flawless spin move past the BASA defender and unleashed a powerful strike into the top left corner – arguably one of the best goals of the entire championship weekend. The goal sent the crowd into celebration as Midland took the late lead.
With only three minutes remaining, Midland Fusion showed incredible composure and defensive discipline, forming a brick wall against BASA’s final attacking pushes. When the final whistle sounded, Midland Fusion 10 Green stood tall as the U16 Girls Premier State Cup Champions. Congratulations to Midland on their outstanding performance – and best of luck as they represent Michigan at the 2026 US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup Regionals in Indiana next June!
