Nationals Macomb 09B Black secured the 2026 MSYSA State Cup U17 Boys Premier Championship with a 2-0 victory over TBAYS North Storm 09B in a competitive final.
For much of the match, both teams battled evenly as they searched for the opening goal. Strong defensive play and disciplined positioning kept quality chances to a minimum throughout the first half.
The breakthrough came in the 40th minute when Nationals Macomb played a ball over the top of the TBAYS backline. As the goalkeeper rushed off the line to challenge for the ball, a Nationals forward reached it first and finished the opportunity to give Nationals a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
TBAYS North Storm continued to push forward in search of an equalizer during the second half, but Nationals remained organized defensively and limited dangerous opportunities. As the match progressed, Nationals found a second goal to extend the advantage to 2-0 and provide valuable breathing room.
With a two-goal cushion, Nationals controlled the closing stages of the match and successfully saw out the remainder of the contest to secure the championship victory.
The 2-0 result crowned Nationals Macomb 09B Black as the 2026 MSYSA State Cup U17 Boys Premier Champion. With the title, Nationals Macomb earned the opportunity to represent Michigan at the Great Lakes Presidents Cup, where they will compete against top teams from across the region.
