2025 USYS National Semifinals Recap

MFA REVOLUTION GR 08B ELITE FALLS 2-1 TO UTAH CELTIC 08B E64 BRADLEY

In a hard-fought semifinal matchup at the 2025 USYS National Championships, MFA Revolution GR 08B Elite put forth a valiant effort but ultimately fell 2-1 to the powerhouse Utah Celtic 08B E64 Bradley on July 26, 2025.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS & KEY MOMENTS

Utah Celtic broke the deadlock early, with Brooks Barker scoring in the 2nd minute, catching MFA’s defense off guard. Demonstrating resilience, MFA struck back swiftly. Ethan Brinker found the net in the 26th minute, restoring parity and injecting belief and momentum into the squad. The match remained tense, but it was Utah Celtic who clinched victory when Brooks Barker scored his second of the game in the 85h minute, sealing the 2-1 result.

HOW THEY GOT HERE

Utah Celtic entered the match riding a historic wave, having won their third consecutive USYS national title in 2025 – becoming the first team since 2017 to accomplish such a feat. Their qualification was earned through a strong performance in the National Leauge, winning their Champions Pool at the NL Semifinals.

MFA Revolution made their way to Orlando by navigating the rigorous National League path – qualifying through their section and advancing to the national stage. Their tenacity and consistent play put them among the elite teams at the tournament.

FINAL REFLECTION

Despite the outcome, MFA Revolution GR 08B elite held their own against a team of Utah Celtic’s caliber. Their fight – from conceding early to equalizing, and sticking in the game until the final moments – is a testament to the character of the team and the foundation built through their National League journey.

A JOURNEY WORTH CELEBRATING

Though the semifinal loss stings, MFA has every reason to be proud. Reaching the national semifinals after qualifying through the challenging National League speaks volumes about their resilience, teamwork, and competitive spirit. We are incredibly proud of how these young athletes represented Michigan – pushing through adversity, showing heart, and competing at the highest level. Their performance on the national stage is an achievement to cherish and a stepping stone toward even greater success.
