Nationals Anchor Bay 12G Black represented Michigan with an impressive showing at the 2026 US Youth Soccer Great Lakes Presidents Cup in Westfield, Indiana, advancing all the way to the championship match and finishing as regional finalists.
The team was dominant throughout group play, posting a perfect 3-0-0 record while outscoring opponents 9-0. Nationals opened the tournament with a convincing 2-0 victory, before delivering an offensive showcase in their second match, earning a 5-0 win. They completed the group stage with another 2-0 victory, securing first place in their bracket and advancing to the final.
While the offense consistently found ways to create scoring opportunities, the defense was equally impressive. Nationals did not concede a single goal during group play, demonstrating tremendous organization, discipline, and teamwork on their way to the championship match.
The final presented the team’s toughest challenge of the tournament. Nationals battled throughout the match and remained within striking distance until the end, but ultimately fell by a narrow 2-1 scoreline.
Despite the result, Nationals Anchor Bay 12G Black put together an outstanding regional tournament run. Finishing with a perfect group stage record, nine goals scored, and a trip to the championship match, the team proudly represented Michigan and established itself as one of the top U14 Girls Presidents Cup teams in the Great Lakes Region.
