Past Great Lakes Presidents Cup Recap

HOLLAND ROVERS 2011B RED

Holland Rovers 2011B Red represented Michigan admirably at the 2026 US Youth Soccer Great Lakes Presidents Cup in Westfield, Indiana, putting together an impressive tournament performance in what was the club’s first-ever appearance in State Cup and Presidents Cup competition.

Rovers opened the tournament with a hard-fought 2-2 draw, earning an important point against strong regional competition. The team followed with a 3-1 victory in its second group stage match, putting itself in excellent position heading into the final day of play.

Needing another positive result to remain in contention, Rovers delivered once again, earning a 2-1 victory in their third and final group stage match. The win gave the Michigan representative a 2-0-1 record, with seven goals scored and four goals conceded throughout the tournament.

When group play concluded, Rovers found themselves tied atop the standings in their bracket. Unfortunately, the team narrowly missed advancing to the championship match due to the goals scored tiebreaker, bringing an end to an otherwise outstanding regional campaign.

While the result was undoubtedly disappointing, the accomplishments of this group should not be overlooked. In their first year ever participating in State Cup competition, Holland Rovers not only captured the 2026 MSYSA State Cup U15 Boys Premier Championship, but also went on to compete successfully against some of the top teams in the Great Lakes Region, finishing group play unbeaten.

The experience and success gained throughout the season are a testament to the team’s hard work, resilience, and commitment. Holland Rovers 2011B Red has plenty to be proud of, capping off a memorable year that included a State Cup title and an impressive debut on the regional stage.
