AYSO United 11G Premier represented Michigan with distinction at the 2026 US Youth Soccer Great Lakes Presidents Cup in Westfield, Indiana, putting together an impressive unbeaten performance during group play.
The tournament began with a hard-fought 1-1 draw in the opening match, earning a valuable point against strong regional competition. From there, AYSO United found its stride and delivered two dominant performances to close out group play.
In their second match, AYSO earned a convincing 5-0 victory, showcasing an explosive attack and a disciplined defensive effort. The team followed that performance with an even more commanding 6-0 win in its final group stage match, finishing the tournament with a flourish.
By the end of group play, AYSO United had compiled a 2-0-1 record, scoring an impressive 12 goals while conceding just one. The teams +11 goal differential was among the strongest performances in the competition and reflected the quality displayed throughout the weekend.
Despite finishing unbeaten and tied near the top of the standings, AYSO narrowly missed advancing out of group play due to a tiebreaker. While the outcome was undoubtedly disappointing, it does not diminish what an outstanding regional tournament performance it was.
The team demonstrated exceptional consistency on both sides of the ball, combining a high-powered offense with a stingy defense that allowed only a single goal across the three matches. AYSO United 11G Premier leaves Westfield with plenty to be proud of after representing Michigan admirably and proving they could compete with the best teams in the Great Lakes Region.
