NATIONALS MACOMB 09B BLACK

Nationals Macomb 09B Black represented Michigan with determination and resilience at the 2026 US Youth Soccer Great Lakes Presidents Cup in Westfield, Indiana, putting together a strong tournament performance against some of the region’s top competition.

The team opened group play in impressive fashion, earning a dominant 4-0 victory that showcased both an effective attack and a disciplined defensive effort. Nationals continued to battle in its second match but came up short in a 3-1 result, setting up a crucial final group stage game.

Facing a must-win situation, Nationals delivered one of the most exciting performances of the tournament. In a high-scoring contest, the team emerged with a thrilling 7-5 victory, demonstrating its offensive firepower and ability to respond under pressure.

When group play conceded, Nationals finished with a 2-1-0 record, scoring 12 goals across three matches. The team’s attacking output was among the most impressive in the competition, averaging four goals per game while consistently creating dangerous scoring opportunities.

Although Nationals was ultimately unable to advance out of group play, the results do not fully reflect the quality of the team’s performance throughout the tournament. Competing in the regional stage is an accomplishment in itself, and the team represented Michigan with pride, passion, and perseverance.

From a dominant opening victory to a memorable seven-goal performance in the final group match, Nationals Macomb 09B Black has plenty to be proud of. Their journey to the Great Lakes Presidents Cup and their competitive showing against top regional opponents capped off an outstanding season and provided valuable experience that will serve the players well moving forward.
