PORTAGE SC 2012G GREEN
Portage SC 2012G Green proudly represented Michigan at the 2026 USYS National Championships in Tennessee, after capturing the Fall 2025 Michigan State Cup title to earn a place among the nation’s best U14 Girls teams.
Portage opened group play with a strong 2-0 victory over the Tennessee representative, combining a disciplined defensive effort with clinical finishing to begin the tournament on a high note. In the second match, Portage battled a talented Maryland side in a tightly contested contest but came up just short in a 1-0 defeat.
Needing a positive result in the final group stage match, Portage responded with one of its best performances of the tournament. The team earned a convincing 5-2 victory over the Utah representative, showcasing its attacking ability and securing a place in the quarterfinal round.
Portage SC finished group play with a 2-1-0 record, scoring seven goals while conceding just three. Their balanced performances on both ends of the field earned them a spot among the final eight teams competing for a national championship.
Advancing to the quarterfinals of the USYS National Championships is an outstanding accomplishment and a fitting reward for a remarkable season. From winning the Fall 2025 Michigan State Cup to representing Michigan on the national stage, Portage SC 2012G Green demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and exceptional quality throughout the tournament, giving the club, its supporters, and the state of Michigan plenty to celebrate!
