Seeding

SEEDING

  • The MSYSA State Cup Committee shall seed teams in the Elite division with input from the clubs involved. The MSYSA State Cup Committee aims to have one (1) seeded team in each preliminary bracket. All non-seeded teams will be placed into brackets randomly by the MSYSA State Cup Committee.
  • The MSYSA State Cup Committee shall not seed teams in the Premier division. Instead, teams will be placed into brackets loosely based on geography and so that brackets are as competitively balanced as possible.
  • For both divisions, a maximum of two (2) teams from the same club may be placed in the same preliminary bracket unless it is impossible to adhere to that restriction.
  • The MSYSA State Cup Committee’s decision regarding seeding and bracketing is final. Teams may not appeal their decision.
