U14 Girls Elite Fall State Cup 2025 Final

PORTAGE SC 2012G GREEN VS MFA GR 12G ELITE

In the U14 Girls Elite Final of the MSYSA Fall State Cup, Portage SC 2012G Green secured a thrilling 2-1 victory over MFA GR 12G Elite to claim their fourth consecutive State Cup title. Both teams showcased skill, composure, and determination throughout a highly competitive match, with neither side giving an inch in the opening stages. The intensity built as the first half progressed, with Portage eventually finding the breakthrough in the 36th minute.

Off a well-placed throw-in that was flicked over the MFA backline, a Portage forward dribbled through three defenders and took a shot that was inadvertently blocked by a teammate. Staying composed, the ball was redirected to an open Portage player, who calmly slotted it past the keeper to make it 1-0. MFA GR equalized six minutes into the second half with a long-range strike off a throw-in that slipped past the Portage goalkeeper, leveling the match at 1-1.

But Portage wasted no time regaining control, responding just three minutes later with an impressive attacking sequence. A Portage forward showcased exceptional footwork, weaving through defenders and delivering a perfectly timed pass across the goal to an open teammate for an easy tap-in. Despite several late chances for both teams, Portage held firm to secure the 2-1 win and another State Cup championship. Congratulations to Portage SC 2012G Green on their victory – and best of luck as they represent Michigan at the 2026 US Youth Soccer National Championships in Tennessee next July!
