Eastside FC 2011B Black captured the 2026 MSYSA State Cup U15 Boys Elite Championship in a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Legends FC 2011B after a fiercely contested match ended scoreless through regulation and overtime.
The final showcased two evenly matched sides, with both teams creating chances while remaining disciplined defensively. Throughout 80 minutes of regulation and two overtime periods, neither team could find the breakthrough despite sustained pressure and quality opportunities on both ends of the field. Strong goalkeeping performances and determined defending kept the match deadlocked at 0-0, forcing the championship to be decided from the penalty spot.
Eastside gained the early advantage in the shootout when its goalkeeper saved Legends’ opening attempt. Eastside then converted its first penalty to take the lead. Legends responded by scoring its second attempt, but momentum shifted again when the Legends goalkeeper denied Eastside’s second penalty.
The shootout remained tightly contested as Legends converted its third and fourth penalties, while Eastside answered with successful third and fourth attempts of its own. With the score still level heading into the final round, Legends’ fifth penalty sailed over the crossbar, opening the door for Eastside.
Needing just one goal to secure the championship, Eastside calmly converted its fifth penalty, setting off celebrations as the team claimed the State Cup title.
The penalty shootout victory crowned Eastside FC 2011B Black as the 2026 MSYSA State Cup U15 Boys Elite Champion. With the championship, Eastside FC will represent Michigan at the US Youth Soccer National Championships in Utah, where they will compete against the nation’s top teams.
