U17 Girls Premier Fall State Cup 2025 Champions

CAP CITY 09G BLUE VS NATIONALS GENESEE 09G BLACK

In the U17 Girls Premier Final of the MSYSA Fall State Cup, Cap City 09G Blue battled their way to a hard-earned 1-0 victory over Nationals Genesee 09G Black. The first half showcased balanced play from both sides, with each team creating quality scoring opportunities but unable to find the finishing touch. Strong defensive efforts and disciplined goalkeeping kept the match level through the opening 40 minutes.

The deadlock finally broke in the 71st minute following a chaotic sequence deep in the Nationals’ defensive corner. After a series of contested touches, a Cap City player managed to send a looping ball into the box. Amidst the scramble, another Cap City player reacted quickly, using her thigh to redirect the awkwardly bouncing ball into the back of the net – a gritty and determined finish that proved to be the game-winner.

Nationals Genesee pressed hard in the closing minutes, but Cap City’s composure and defensive resilience held strong to secure the clean sheet and the title. Congratulations to Cap City 09G Blue on their 1-0 victory and MSYSA Fall State Cup championship – and best of luck as they represent Michigan at the 2026 US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup Regionals in Indiana next June!
