USYS Midwest Regionals Recap

PORTAGE SC 2012G GREEN

Portage SC 2012G Green proudly represented Michigan at the 2025 USYS Midwest Regionals in Overland Park, Kansas, competing in the U13 Girls Division. The team earned its spot by winning the Michigan Spring State Cup and carried that momentum onto the regional stage with an impressive run.

In group play, Portage SC showed defensive strength and determination, finishing with a 2-0-1 record. They scored three goals while not conceding a single one, securing the top of their bracket and advancing to the knockout rounds.

In the semifinals, Portage battled through a thrilling match that came down to penalty kicks, where they held their composure and advanced with a 4-3 shootout victory. The team then moved on to the championship match, where they faced a tough opponent in EBU. Despite their effort, Portage fell 2-0 in the final, finishing as regional runners-up.

Portage SC 2012G Green’s remarkable run highlights the talent, resilience, and teamwork of the squad. By advancing all the way to the final, they set a high standard for the club and proudly represented Michigan on the regional stage.
