MIDLAND FUSION 10 GREEN
Midland Fusion 10 Green proudly represented Michigan and the Great Lakes Region at the 2026 USYS National Presidents Cup Championships in Wichita, Kansas, competing against some of the nation’s top U16 Girls teams.
Fusion opened the tournament in impressive fashion with a commanding 3-0 victory over the Arkansas representative. The team’s strong attacking play and organized defense set the tone early, earning an important three points to begin group play.
The competition only intensified from there. In the second match, Midland battled hard against South Dakota but came up just short in a tightly contested 2-1 result. Facing a must-win situation in the final group stage match, Fusion once again competed with determination but fell 4-1 to the East Pennsylvania representative.
Midland Fusion concluded group play with a 1-2-0 record, scoring five goals while conceding six. Although the team did not advance to the semifinal round, competing at the USYS National Presidents Cup Championships is an outstanding accomplishment and a testament to the hard work and dedication displayed throughout the season.
After capturing the Great Lakes Presidents Cup title to earn a place at Nationals, Midland Fusion represented Michigan with pride, resilience, and determination on the national stage. While the tournament did not end with a trip to the semifinals, the experience of competing against the country’s top teams capped off an exceptional season and is something the players, coaches, and supporters should be incredibly proud of!
