MSYSA is proud to support the Michigan soccer community through a range of scholarship opportunities, recognition programs, and financial grants. These initiatives honor the achievements and contributions of players, coaches, volunteers, and clubs who help grow and elevate the game throughout the state.
Among the available opportunities are six $2,000 college scholarships for graduating seniors who demonstrate excellence in academics, active community involvement, and a strong commitment to giving back to the game of soccer. In addition, the Adalin Farnum ODP Scholarship awards up to two ODP players $1,000 each in recognition of their kindness and positive impact – qualities that reflect the legacy of Adalin Farnum. The Yvonne Curtis Scholarship, valued at $1,000, honors a student who exemplifies character, enthusiasm, and selflessness, celebrating the lifelong dedication Yvonne Curtis brought to youth soccer in Michigan.
MSYSA is also accepting nominations for its Annual Awards Program, recognizing outstanding contributions across the soccer community. Categories include Administrator of the Year, Coach of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Young Referee of the Year, TOPSoccer Coach of the Year, and TOPSoccer Buddy of the Year. These awards honor those who consistently go above and beyond to support players, teams, and clubs at all levels of the game.
In addition, the MSYSA Recreational Grant is open to all affiliated clubs and leagues. This grant helps fund key grassroots initiatives such as school outreach programs, coaching education, tournament organization, equipment purchases, and other development efforts that directly impact recreational soccer.
We encourage all eligible members to apply or nominate someone making a meaningful difference in our soccer community. For full details, eligibility criteria, and application links, please visit the MSYSA website and navigate to the ‘Member Services’ section!
