Canton, Michigan – July 25-27,2025
MSYSA’s 2025 Olympic Development Program (ODP) Tryouts brought together an impressive group of young athletes from across Michigan, as 1,272 boys and girls born between 2009 and 2015 took the field at Independence Park in Canton. The weekend marked the official kickoff to the annual player identification process and offered participants the chance to showcase their skills in a competitive and development-focused environment.
Open to all eligible players regardless of club affiliation, the ODP tryouts serve as a gateway to high-level development and national exposure. After a weekend of intense heat and hard-fought sessions, 550 players were selected to advance to the ODP Winter Training Pool, where final State Teams will be identified. The players moving forward represent the next wave of top talent in Michigan soccer.
MSYSA’s ODP program is designed to identify, develop, and prepare players for potential selection to State, Regional, and National Teams. The program also opens doors to college recruitment opportunities and participation in national and international events. Athletes benefit from training under licensed and experienced coaches, while gaining the chance to compete with and against the best players in their age group across both Michigan and the Midwest Region.
Thank you to all the players, families, and staff who made the 2025 tryouts a success. We look forward to following the journey of this year’s Winter Pool participants and seeing the continued growth of Michigan’s top youth talent through the ODP pathway!
