The Michigan State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA) recently held its Annual General Meeting (AGM), where key organizational actions and leadership appointments were confirmed for the year ahead.

During the meeting, club and league representatives approved the 2025 Actions of the Board and adopted several MSYSA and Michigan State Premier Soccer Program (MSPSP) bylaw amendments, effective February 14, 2026. Representatives also welcomed three new member organizations—Chelsea SC, Dearborn Heights SC, and United Soccer Academies—further strengthening Michigan’s growing soccer community.

In addition, members approved MSYSA’s budgets for Fiscal Years 2026 through 2028, as well as the MSPSP budget for the 2026–2027 seasonal year.

Leadership Elections

The AGM also included the election of several key leadership positions:

  • Denise Moote was elected President for a two-year term.
  • Dave Turrill was elected Treasurer for a two-year term.
  • Doug Prim was elected Recreational Director for a two-year term.

Serving one-year terms as District Commissioners are:

  • Bre Brendsel
  • Connie Campbell
  • Mike Egnotovich
  • Anthony Spica
  • Wendy Zielen

Committee Appointments and Board Elections

Committee leadership appointments were announced across several essential areas, including Budget & Finance, Bylaws & Standing Rules, State Cup/JR State Cup, Discipline & Appeals, Recreational, Participant Safety, TOPSoccer, Soccer for Success, and AGM Minutes Approval.

Following the AGM, the MSYSA Board of Directors elected Tina Ramirez to serve as Vice President through the 2027 AGM and Connie Campbell as Recording Secretary for the same term. As a result, a North District Commissioner election will be held on February 23, 2026.

Looking ahead, the 2027 AGM will take place in the Metro Central District, with additional details to be announced at a later date.
